Top 6 Flat Yarn Extrusion Lines for PP Woven Bags Compared

Six flat yarn extrusion lines from Yanfeng Group ranked by output: 450 m/min YF-GSPL and 280 m/min YF-SPL lines and SJ-FS recycled-material tape drawing machines compared.

Our flat yarn extrusion lines turn PP or HDPE granules, or 100% recycled material, into the flat tape that circular looms weave into woven bags. This list ranks six models from our three tape-line product pages, ordered by maximum output in kg/h with line speed as the tie-breaker, and it marks which models are rated for 100% recycled feedstock, because that decision comes before any other. For a large plant running PP, HDPE or LLDPE granules, buy the YF-GSPL-135/30/2000: 800 kg/h at 450 m/min. For a plant built on recycled or filled material, the SJ-FS230/5800B(P) tape drawing machine gives 500–700 kg/h from 100% recycled granules or powder, and the SJ-FS140/2000B(P) is the same design at 150–300 kg/h for a smaller plant.

Key definitions

  • Flat yarn (tape): the narrow strip of PP or HDPE slit from an extruded film and stretched, then wound on bobbins and woven on a circular loom.
  • Output (kg/h): the maximum weight of tape the extruder produces per hour; it sets how many looms one line can feed.
  • Line speed (m/min): the speed at which the tape leaves the drawing unit; 450, 280 or 80–200 m/min across our lines.
  • Die width (mm): the width of the film sheet extruded before slitting; a wider die yields more tape ends at the same speed.
  • Drawing ratio: how many times the tape is stretched between the slow and fast rollers; 4–10 on the YF lines, changed by a 6-speed gearbox or servo motor on the SJ-FS machines.
  • Tex: the linear density of the tape in grams per 1000 m; the YF lines are rated for 60–130 tex.
  • Winder spindles: the number of bobbins wound at once, one spindle per tape end.

1. YF-GSPL-135/30/2000

The largest size on the High-speed Flat Yarn Extrusion Line (450 m/min) page and the highest-output flat yarn line we build: 800 kg/h from a 135 mm screw with a 30:1 L/D ratio turning at 20–100 r/min, feeding a 2000 mm die lip. The tape leaves at up to 450 m/min in the 60–130 tex range with a drawing ratio of 4–10, onto 344 winder spindles with 38×230 mm bobbins. System installed power is 450 kW and normal consumption 250 kW; the line measures 45000×3800×3200 mm and weighs 40,000 kg. Speed regulation is computer-controlled frequency conversion, the stretching stage can be a hot-blast oven or an electric baking board, and a filter change structure and a fibrillation unit for sewing thread can be added. Buy it when one extruder must feed a large loom hall on PP, HDPE or LLDPE.

2. YF-GSPL-120/30/1500

The 1500 mm size of the same 450 m/min line: 600 kg/h from a 120 mm screw, 30:1 L/D, 20–120 r/min, with 256 spindles. Installed power is 380 kW and normal consumption 210 kW; the line is 37000×3800×3200 mm and 32,000 kg, so it fits a hall 37 m long against 45 m for the 2000 mm size. It is the right choice for a mid-to-large plant that wants 450 m/min tape without the floor space and 450 kW supply the largest line needs. Three smaller sizes sit below it on the same page: YF-GSPL-80/33/800 (320 kg/h, 136 spindles), YF-GSPL-100/33/1000 (400 kg/h, 176 spindles) and YF-GSPL-110/30/1200 (480 kg/h, 208 spindles).

3. SJ-FS230/5800B(P)

The largest of the sixteen sizes on the Plastic Tape Drawing Machine page, and the machine we specify for recycled material: it can adopt 100% recycled materials, high-rate master batch, mixed materials, powder or granules to make PP yarn. The 230 mm screw is 7500 mm long, made of 38CrMoAlA alloy steel with the barrel, and driven through a ZLYJ450 reducer by a 185 kW motor; extruder heating is 165 kW, the heating board 70 kW, traction 37 kW, and like every (P) size it carries a 5.5 kW vacuum pump. The 5800 mm die gives 500–700 kg/h at 80–200 m/min; because the die is wider than 2 m, an active roller is used and the installing width grows by 400 mm over the listed 25000×7700×2500 mm. Weight is 45,000 kg. The drawing ratio is set by a 6-speed gearbox or a servo motor numerical control system.

4. YF-SPL-135/30/2000

The 2000 mm size on the High-speed Flat Yarn Extrusion Line (280 m/min) page shares the 135 mm screw, 30:1 L/D, 344 spindles, 450 kW installed power and 45000×3800×3200 mm footprint of the rank-1 line, but is rated 550 kg/h at 280 m/min. Choose it when you want the full 2000 mm die and spindle count but your winders and loom hall do not need 450 m/min tape. The same options apply: hot-blast stretching oven or electric baking board, filter change structure, fibrillation attachment for flexible packaging bags or fibrillated sewing thread. Tex range is 60–130 and drawing ratio 4–10.

5. YF-SPL-120/30/1500

The 1500 mm size of the 280 m/min line: 450 kg/h from a 120 mm screw at 20–120 r/min, 256 spindles, 380 kW installed and 210 kW normal consumption, 37000×3800×3200 mm, 32,000 kg. For a new mid-size plant starting on PP granules it balances output, power and hall length. Below it on the same page are YF-SPL-80/33/800 (220 kg/h, 136 spindles), YF-SPL-90/33/1000 (280 kg/h, 176 spindles) and YF-SPL-110/30/1200 (350 kg/h, 208 spindles), all with the same 4–10 drawing ratio and 38×230 mm bobbins.

6. SJ-FS140/2000B(P)

The 2000 mm die size of the Plastic Tape Drawing Machine: a 140 mm screw, 4800 mm long, driven through a ZLYJ315 reducer by a 45 kW motor, with 86 kW extruder heating, 30 kW heating board, 7.5 kW traction and the 5.5 kW vacuum pump. Output is 150–300 kg/h at 80–200 m/min, footprint 20800×3400×2200 mm, weight 20,000 kg. It is the recycled-material line for a small or medium sack plant; the smallest size with the vacuum pump is the SJ-FS140/1600B(P), 120–240 kg/h from a 1600 mm die. If the plant is smaller still, the same page lists the SJ-FS110/800B: 110 mm screw, 800 mm die, 30 kW extruder motor, 60–120 kg/h, 13300×1500×2000 mm and 6,500 kg, without vacuum pump.

How to choose

  1. Decide the feedstock first. 100% recycled PP or PE, high-rate masterbatch, mixed material or powder: choose an SJ-FS tape drawing machine; the (P) sizes, from 1600 mm die width upward, carry a 5.5 kW vacuum pump. Virgin PP, HDPE or LLDPE granules: choose a YF-SPL or YF-GSPL line.
  2. Convert daily tonnage into kg/h. Divide the tape the looms consume per day by the planned running hours and pick the model whose maximum output covers that figure with margin; the YF range steps 220, 280, 350, 450 and 550 kg/h at 280 m/min and 320, 400, 480, 600 and 800 kg/h at 450 m/min.
  3. Match spindles to loom ends. Each spindle winds one tape; the YF lines are listed with 136 to 344 spindles, and the count can be arranged to your requirement.
  4. Pick the speed the downstream can use. 450 m/min gives more kg/h from the same size; 280 m/min gives the same die widths, spindle counts and installed power at a lower rated speed and output.
  5. Check the electrical supply and the hall. YF lines need 240–450 kW installed, 29–45 m in length; SJ-FS machines need a 30–185 kW extruder motor plus heating and 13.3–25 m in length, plus 400 mm of width for the active roller on dies over 2 m.
  6. Fix the tape specification. The YF lines are rated for 60–130 tex with a 4–10 drawing ratio; specify the hot-blast oven or electric baking board, and ask for the fibrillation unit if you also make sewing thread.
