Top 7 Auxiliary Machines for Woven Bag Plants, Ranked

The seven auxiliary machines for woven bag plants that most affect output and material cost, ranked with product-page figures: granulator, crusher, mixer, chiller, feeder, baler.

The auxiliary machines for woven bag plants are the equipment that never appears in a headline output figure but decides how much of your polypropylene becomes saleable bags and how steadily the main line runs. This list ranks the seven auxiliary machines we build, from the 12 product pages of our auxiliary and recycling range, by how much each one affects a plant's output and material cost: the recycling granulator and crusher come first because they turn waste back into feedstock, the mixer, chiller and feeder next because they keep the extruder at rated speed, and the edge-yarn unit and baling press last because one recovers a single waste stream and the other handles finished bags rather than raw material. For a first plant we recommend the yfj-50 drying mixer, the XTL300 auto feeder and an SFL-05F or SFL-20F chiller on day one, and a YFP-300 crusher with an SJ-FL120-II granulator once scrap starts to pile up. Our PP woven bag production line guide covers the main machines these support.

Key definitions

  • Recycling machine (granulator): an extruder with a cutting head that melts crushed plastic waste and cuts it into pellets that can be fed back to the tape line.
  • Plastic crusher: a bladed mill that reduces waste tape, rejected bags and off-cuts to flakes small enough to feed a granulator or extruder.
  • Drying mixer: a hopper machine that dries and mixes PP and PE material before it goes to tape drawing, film extrusion or laminating.
  • Auto feeder: a spiral feeder that delivers dried material to the extruder hopper in fixed quantities at fixed times.
  • Industrial chiller: a refrigeration unit that supplies chilled water to process equipment; air-cooled models (SFL-F) need no cooling tower, water-cooled models (SFL-S) take a separate cooling-water flow.
  • Hydraulic baling press: a hydraulic press that compacts finished woven and mesh bags into dense bundles for storage and shipping.

1. Recycling Machine

The recycling machine is the auxiliary unit that turns plant waste back into feedstock. It processes old woven bags, plastic film and other broken plastic into granules that go back into the tape extruder as raw material. The SJ-FL120-II has a 120 mm screw with a 10:1 main-screw ratio, an 18.5 kW main motor, a 5.5 kW sub-motor and a 1.5 kW pelletising motor, and produces 40–80 kg/h; it measures 4500×2000×1100 mm and weighs about 1200 kg. The SJ-FL150-II steps up to a 150 mm screw, a main motor listed as "22-6 or 30-4" kW, a 7.5 kW sub-motor, and 80–120 kg/h at 5600×2500×1300 mm and 2000 kg. Both run the screw at 50–80 r/min. Buy the 120 model for a single tape line and the 150 model when scrap from looms, cutting and lamination is also being recovered.

2. Plastic Crusher

Waste tape, rejected bags and trimmings cannot go into a granulator whole; the plastic crusher reduces them to flakes that can be used again for tape drawing. The YFP-300 has a 300 mm blade width, a 7.5 kW motor and 100 kg/h capacity in a 1050×800×1370 mm footprint at 400 kg. The YFP-500 uses 250×2 mm blades and an 11 kW motor for 200 kg/h, measuring 1300×1100×1600 mm and 600 kg. Size the crusher above the granulator so the crusher never becomes the bottleneck: YFP-300 with SJ-FL120-II, YFP-500 with SJ-FL150-II. Plants that sell flakes rather than pellets can run the crusher alone.

3. Drying Mixer

Material has to be prepared before it reaches the extruder. The drying mixer dries and mixes polypropylene and polyethylene for tape drawing, film extrusion and plastic laminating. The yfj-50 has a 600×600 mm hopper, a 15–18.5 kW motor and 200 kg/h capacity, installs in 1250×700×1100 mm and weighs about 300 kg. Its 200 kg/h rate matches the SJ-FS110/800B to SJ-FS120/1200B tape lines, rated 60–180 kg/h in the catalogue; for a larger line, divide the line's rated output by 200 kg/h to estimate how many mixers it needs (an illustration, not a catalogue figure). It ranks third because it sits upstream of every other machine, and it is where recycled pellets from the granulator are mixed back into the feed.

4. Industrial Chiller

The industrial chiller supplies chilled water to the line; on our reverse lamination machine, for example, a chiller is an optional add-on to raise lamination speed. The air-cooled SFL-F series can be installed easily and does not need to be used with a cooling tower: the SFL-05F gives 14285 W (12300 kcal/h) cooling for 4.3 kW input with a 45 L/min chilled-water flow and 130 L tank at 175 kg; the SFL-20F gives 56678 W for 16.8 kW, 150 L/min and a 400 L tank at 835 kg; the SFL-40F gives 112078 W (96500 kcal/h) for 32.9 kW with 20 m³/h chilled-water flow, a 400 L cistern and 640 kg net weight. The SFL-05F and SFL-20F ratings are based on 35℃ ambient and 20℃ water. The water-cooled SFL-05S, SFL-10S and SFL-20S deliver 14285, 29036 and 56678 W from 4.3, 8.4 and 16.8 kW, and list cooling-water flows of 67, 130 and 260 m³/h, so a cooling-water supply of that size has to be planned for them. All models run on 3PH-380V/50Hz; the refrigerant is listed as R22(404A), and R22 on the SFL-40F. The page states that the units carry multiple safety protections; the SFL-40F lists high and low pressure, overload, anti-phase, compressor over-temperature, fusible plug and automatic temperature switch protection. The page gives the overall cooling range as 7250 to 245000 kilocalories (3HP–100HP).

5. Auto Feeder

The auto feeder delivers dried material from the mixer to the extruder hopper, reducing labour and feeding a fixed quantity at a fixed time. The XTL300 uses spiral feeding, draws 1.1 kW and installs in 2700×1200×2000 mm. Paired with the drying mixer, it links drying and extrusion so that material is not carried to the hopper by hand. Fit one per tape line.

6. Edge Yarn Recycling Unit

A tape line produces edge yarn as the film is slit into tapes. The edge yarn recycling unit is the part of our auxiliary range for recovering it, and our recycling machines are listed for recycling edge yarn, off-cuts and waste fabric back into pellets. The product page publishes no model or technical figures, so ask for a specification together with your tape-line enquiry. It ranks sixth because it handles one waste stream, the edge trim of the tape line, while the crusher and granulator take scrap from the whole plant.

7. Hydraulic Baling Press

The hydraulic baling press presses finished woven bags and mesh bags into solid bundles, which makes them easier to store and ship. The KS-850 works at 6–8 MPa with a 2.2 kW motor and a 900 mm bag stack height, in 2000×930×2600 mm at 1000 kg. The KS-1100 raises pressure to 13–15 MPa with a 7.5 kW motor and 1100 mm stack, at 2200×930×2300 mm and 1500 kg. The KS-1900 is the largest model: 18–20 MPa, 15 kW, 1900 mm stack, 2800×2200×4200 mm and 5000 kg. Choose by the bundle size your customers accept and by daily bag count; the KS-850 suits a plant of a few looms, the KS-1900 a plant shipping by the container.

How to choose

  1. Start from the extruder. Take the production capacity of your tape line (60–700 kg/h across the SJ-FS models in the catalogue) and give the drying mixer at least that rate: one yfj-50 at 200 kg/h covers a line rated up to 200 kg/h.
  2. Size the chiller to the extruder and laminator together. Add the cooling load of both, then pick the SFL model with the next higher W rating; choose air-cooled (SFL-F) if you have no cooling tower, water-cooled (SFL-S) if you can supply the cooling-water flow its model lists.
  3. Estimate scrap before choosing the crusher and granulator. Set the crusher above the granulator rate: YFP-300 with SJ-FL120-II for a single line, YFP-500 with SJ-FL150-II when loom and cutting waste is recovered as well.
  4. Add the auto feeder per line, and ask about edge yarn recovery. Fit one XTL300 for each tape line, and request an edge yarn recycling unit specification with the line.
  5. Pick the baler by bundle size and volume. KS-850 for local sales in small bundles, KS-1100 for mixed orders, KS-1900 for full-container loads.
  6. Round out the plant. Our range also includes the cooling tower, bobbin wire cutting machine, manual cutting and sewing machines and lab equipment; see the full auxiliary machine range.

Frequently asked questions

Which auxiliary machines does a new PP woven bag plant need first?
Start with the material-handling set that feeds the tape line: a drying mixer (yfj-50, 200 kg/h) and an auto feeder (XTL300, 1.1 kW), then the chiller sized to the extruder. Add a plastic crusher and a recycling granulator as soon as waste tape and off-cuts accumulate, and a hydraulic baling press when bag output is high enough that hand-tied bundles slow down shipping.
How much waste can the recycling machine turn back into pellets?
The SJ-FL120-II granulator is rated 40–80 kg/h and the SJ-FL150-II 80–120 kg/h; both have a 10:1 main screw and run at 50–80 r/min. They take old woven bags, plastic film and other broken plastic and return granules that the tape line can reuse as raw material.
Do I need a cooling tower if I buy an industrial chiller?
Not with the air-cooled SFL-F series: the product page states it installs easily and does not need to be used with a cooling tower. The water-cooled SFL-05S, SFL-10S and SFL-20S list a cooling-water flow of 67, 130 and 260 m³/h respectively, so a cooling-water supply of that size has to be planned for them. The published ratings are based on 35℃ ambient and 20℃ water temperature.
What size crusher should I pair with the granulator?
Match hourly rates. The YFP-300 crusher (100 kg/h, 7.5 kW, 300 mm blade) feeds an SJ-FL120-II granulator (40–80 kg/h) with margin; the YFP-500 (200 kg/h, 11 kW, 250×2 mm blades) suits the SJ-FL150-II (80–120 kg/h) or a plant with several scrap streams.
How big a bale does the hydraulic baling press make?
The bag stack height is 900 mm on the KS-850, 1100 mm on the KS-1100 and 1900 mm on the KS-1900, at working pressures of 6–8, 13–15 and 18–20 MPa respectively. Motors are 2.2, 7.5 and 15 kW. The press compacts finished woven bags and mesh bags into solid bundles for shipping.
