Top 6 Lamination Machines for Woven Bags: Width and Speed

Six Yanfeng Group lamination machines for woven bags ranked by coating width, line speed and versatility, with catalogue figures and a six-step buying guide.

Our lamination machines for woven bags come as six models spread over four product pages: three single-extruder builds, one double-extruder build and two sizes of PLC-controlled reverse lamination machine. This list ranks all six by coating width × line speed × versatility, using only the figures printed in our catalogue, so a bag plant can see at once which machine covers its fabric width, its daily metres and its product mix. In short: a plant coating or film-laminating fabric up to 750 mm should buy the SJ-FMF90/1000/4, or the SJ-FMF90/1000/6 when it wants a glossy two-side finish; a plant weaving fabric wider than 750 mm needs the SJ-FMF120/1500; a plant that wants a separate extruder for each die takes the double-extruder SJ-FMF90×2/1000; and a plant making fertilizer, chemical, sugar or feed bags with a bonded inner liner needs a YF-NMF reverse lamination machine, not an extrusion line.

Key definitions

  • Extrusion coating: molten PP or PE is spread through a flat die onto the moving woven fabric and pressed on by a roller, giving a one-side or two-side coated bag.
  • Film or paper lamination: the same molten PP/PE layer acts as the adhesive that bonds colour-printed OPP or CPP film, or paper, to the fabric under pressure.
  • Reverse (inner-liner) lamination: a tubular fabric woven with a film liner inside is heated so the liner bonds to the fabric; no extruder is involved.
  • Max. coating width: the widest fabric the die can cover; it is narrower than the die itself (750 mm coating from a 1000 mm die, 1200 mm from a 1500 mm die).
  • Coating speed: line speed in metres per minute; stepless speed regulation sets coating thickness and laminating speed.
  • Dies and rollers: the catalogue pairs two dies with two-side laminated bags; four rollers give a matt effect, and six rollers with two mirror rollers a glossy effect.

6 YF-NMF/650 Reverse lamination 350–650 mm lay-flat 50 m/min none (heated bonding) 10 kW + 36 kW heating 10,000 kg

Figures are catalogue values for each model size. For the two YF-NMF machines the width column is the lay-flat width of the tubular fabric and the speed is the maximum lamination speed, because a reverse machine has no die; their gross power is quoted separately from heating power, as in the catalogue.

1. SJ-FMF90×2/1000 double-extruder lamination machine

The double extruder lamination machine is the most fully equipped build in the family, which is why it heads a list ranked on versatility as well as width and speed. Two 90 mm extruders (26:1 L/D, 15 kW motor and 28 kW heating each) feed two dies, one extruder per die, at the full 80–200 m/min. Coating width is 750 mm from 1000 mm dies, and the six-roller layout has two mirror rollers, the arrangement the catalogue pairs with a glossy two-side finish; the double-extruder structure is made to customer requirement. It draws 96 kW gross, needs 15.8 × 6.0 × 3.2 m of floor and weighs 15,000 kg. Buy it when you want a separate extruder for each die and have the power and floor space for the heaviest machine in the range.

2. SJ-FMF120/1500 wide single-extruder lamination machine

The SJ-FMF120/1500 is the wide model listed on the single extruder 4 roller lamination machine page. A 120 mm screw at 28:1 with a 37 kW extruder motor and 42 kW of heating feeds a single 1500 mm die that coats up to 1200 mm of fabric, the widest in our range, at 50–150 m/min. It carries one die and three rollers. Gross power is 96 kW, the footprint 15.5 × 8.0 × 2.5 m and the weight 10,000 kg. It ranks second because its width × speed product is the largest of the six (our arithmetic: 1200 mm × 150 m/min against 750 mm × 200 m/min), and it is the only model for fabric wider than 750 mm.

3. SJ-FMF90/1000/6 single-extruder six-roller lamination machine

The single extruder 6 roller lamination machine uses one 90 mm extruder (26:1, 15 kW motor, 40 kW heating, 11 kW driving motor) with two 1000 mm dies, coating 750 mm at 80–200 m/min. Its six-roller, two-die, two-mirror-roller structure is the one the catalogue recommends for two-side laminated bags with a glossy effect. Six material-feeding stations, pneumatic-hydraulic edge correction on the rewinder and a magnetic-powder clutch for tension control are fitted; a swing-type frame can be added. Gross power is 76 kW, the footprint 15.5 × 6.0 × 2.5 m and the weight 9,000 kg. Choose it over the four-roller machine when you want a glossy rather than a matt finish.

4. SJ-FMF90/1000/4 single-extruder four-roller lamination machine

The single extruder 4 roller lamination machine is the entry model. It shares the 90 mm extruder, two 1000 mm dies, 750 mm coating width and 80–200 m/min speed of the six-roller machine, but with a four-roller two-die structure that gives a matt two-side finish, a 5.5 kW driving motor and the lowest gross power of the extrusion models, 71 kW. It is also the lightest and shortest line: 8,000 kg in 13.8 × 6.0 × 2.5 m. Automatic counting, edge-blowing, perforating, edge-folding and cutting-off or winding devices are fitted. Buy it for one- or two-side coated bags and film or paper lamination up to 750 mm wide with a matt finish.

5. YF-NMF/750 reverse lamination machine

The larger of the two reverse lamination machines (patent ZL201220197057.1) takes tubular fabric of 450–750 mm lay-flat width, woven with a film liner on a hollow-shaft loom, from a roll up to 1200 mm in diameter, and heats it so the liner bonds to the inside of the tube at up to 50 m/min. Heating power is 48 kW and gross power 14 kW; the line measures 22.0 × 1.7 × 3.1 m and weighs 12,000 kg. PLC control with touch-screen operation sets temperature and speed together and raises a fault alarm; the pneumatic frictional rewinder driven by a torque motor gives a flat, even roll, and a chiller can be added to improve the lamination speed. It ranks fifth on width and speed but it is the machine for bonded-liner fertilizer, chemical, sugar and feed bags.

6. YF-NMF/650 reverse lamination machine

The YF-NMF/650, on the same reverse lamination machine page, is the 350–650 mm lay-flat version. Speed (50 m/min), maximum unwind roll diameter (1200 mm), footprint (22.0 × 1.7 × 3.1 m), PLC touch-screen control and the torque-motor rewinder are the same as the 750 mm machine; heating power drops to 36 kW, gross power to 10 kW and weight to 10,000 kg. Choose it when your liner-bag range stops at 650 mm lay-flat, and save the difference in heating load. If any of your bags run wider than 650 mm, step up to the YF-NMF/750.

How to choose

  1. Name the process first. Coating or film/paper lamination on flat fabric means an SJ-FMF extrusion machine; bonding a liner inside a tube means a YF-NMF reverse machine. They are not interchangeable.
  2. Measure your widest fabric. Up to 750 mm: any SJ-FMF90 build. Between 750 and 1200 mm: the SJ-FMF120/1500. For the reverse machine, match lay-flat width to 350–650 mm or 450–750 mm.
  3. Choose the finish and build. Two-side laminated, matt: SJ-FMF90/1000/4. Two-side laminated, glossy: SJ-FMF90/1000/6. A separate extruder for each die: SJ-FMF90×2/1000. Fabric wider than 750 mm: the one-die SJ-FMF120/1500.
  4. Check daily metres against speed. Plan conservatively with the low end of the coating-speed range (80 m/min for the 1000 mm-die models, 50 m/min for the 1500 mm model); the reverse machines are rated at a maximum of 50 m/min.
  5. Add up the power. Extrusion models draw 71–96 kW gross; reverse machines 10–14 kW gross plus 36–48 kW heating. Confirm your supply before choosing a 96 kW model.
  6. Fit the floor. The SJ-FMF lines need 13.8–15.8 m of length and 6–8 m of width; the YF-NMF lines are 22 m long but only 1.7 m wide.

The three SJ-FMF90 builds (single-extruder four-roller, single-extruder six-roller and double-extruder) are all rated 80 to 200 m/min coating speed at up to 750 mm coating width. The wide SJ-FMF120/1500 runs 50 to 150 m/min, and the YF-NMF reverse lamination machines bond liners at up to 50 m/min.
Which model coats the widest woven fabric?
The SJ-FMF120/1500 has a 1500 mm die and coats up to 1200 mm of fabric, against 750 mm for the 1000 mm-die models. It uses a 120 mm screw with a 28:1 L/D ratio and a 37 kW extruder motor, and draws 96 kW gross.
What is the difference between the four-roller and the six-roller lamination machine?
Both use a 90 mm extruder, two dies and coat 750 mm at 80 to 200 m/min. The four-roller two-die structure gives two-side laminated bags with a matt finish; the six-roller two-die structure adds two mirror rollers for a glossy two-side finish. The six-roller machine has an 11 kW driving motor against 5.5 kW, and gross power is 76 kW against 71 kW.
What does the double-extruder lamination machine add?
A separate extruder for each die. The SJ-FMF90×2/1000 is the double-extruder, two-die, two-mirror-roller structure, made to customer requirement: two 90 mm extruders (2 × 15 kW motors, 2 × 28 kW heating) feed two dies with six rollers, coating 750 mm at 80 to 200 m/min for 96 kW gross power. At 15,000 kg it is the heaviest machine in the range.
How much power does a woven bag lamination line need?
The extrusion lamination machines are listed at 71 to 96 kW gross power, with 40 to 42 kW of extruder heating power (28 kW × 2 on the double extruder). The reverse lamination machines list 10 kW (YF-NMF/650) or 14 kW (YF-NMF/750) gross power and, separately, 36 or 48 kW of heating power.
